The Department of Chemistry of NKUA - represented by the Chair of the Department, Prof. Christiana Mitsopoulou, and the Director of the Industrial Chemistry Laboratory, Prof. Hermis Latrou - analyzed Professor Hadjichristidis contribution to Chemistry in the Department and in Greece and honored him with the
‘Chair's Award of Excellence’
for having made an outstanding contribution to research, mentorship, teaching, and administration in Chemistry in Greece.
After that, Professor Nikos Hadjichristidis, emeritus Professor of Chemistry Dept, NKUA and Prestigious Professor of KAUST, Saudi Arabia opened the "Athens Conference on Advances in Chemistry" (Oct 30 to Nov 2) organized by the Chemistry Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) for the 100 Anniversary of the Department with a Plenary lecture of 45 min entitled:
"Polyhomologation: A Powerful Tool Towards Well-Defined Polyethylene-Based Polymeric Materials."
