STUDY

The University of Athens combines teaching and research with an education that gives students a solid grounding for further study and professional life. As well as developing the knowledge and skills they need in their chosen fields, students are encouraged to look beyond their immediate subjects, engage with ideas from other disciplines and think about broader questions in science, culture, politics and society. This helps them develop the critical thinking and judgement they need to make informed decisions and play an active role in the world around them.

The University’s nine Schools provide the framework for its academic work, bringing together its Departments and Sections. Its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes span a wide range of disciplines, from highly specialised fields to areas where different subjects and perspectives meet. Study at the University can also continue well beyond graduation. Through its programmes in continuing education and lifelong learning, the University offers courses and other opportunities for people who want to deepen their knowledge, develop new skills or pursue interests of their own, whether for personal or professional reasons.
