The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as a modern Institution of Higher Education, established five new Departments in modern scientific fields of applied science and technology during the academic year 2019-2020.
The five new Departments are:
Department of Agricultural Development, Agri-food and Natural Resources Management
Department of Ports Management and Shipping
The establishment of these Departments, which are in their second academic year, function within the strategic development plan of the University, regarding curricula in modern thematic areas and research activity. They operate in the “Evripos Complex”, Psachna, Evia (12km north of Chalkida) under the auspices of the N.K.U.A., the oldest Greek University, ranked 180th worldwide among 12,000 Universities (Webometrics Ranking, 2021, 1st semester) and 49th among the 3,262 universities in the European Union included in this ranking.
An amount of 7 million Euros has been allocated for the upgrading and modernizing of the infrastructure (teaching halls, specialized and computer labs, as well as a library and a restaurant) offered to both to the academic staff and the students. Our University aims at making the “Evripos Complex” a hub for innovation and advance research.
