Prof. Costas VAROTSOS appointed Editor-in-Chief of Remote Sensing Letters

Taylor & Francis and the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society (RSPSoc) are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Costas Varotsos to the position of Editor-in-Chief of Remote Sensing Letters (RSL) which is among the premier remote sensing journals and official journal of RSPSoc (published 12 times per year, in print and online).

Professor Varotsos said "I am excited to take over the responsibility of Editor-in-Chief of Remote Sensing Letters. During my tenure, I want to continue the great work that the journal does, in particular attracting more early-career researchers and concentrating on enhancing the editor–reviewer–author collaboration for high-quality and unbiased peer review accomplished in a timely manner. My target is to maintain and enhance RSL as a very important primary source of information on remote sensing science, especially today where there is so much remote sensing data available. We should keep in mind, however, what Henri Poincaré (1854-1912) said: ‘Science is data. Just as houses are built with bricks, so science is built with data. But just like a pile of bricks doesn't make a home, so data collection is not necessarily science’.
