2ND PLACE FOR THE NKUA LAW SCHOOL TEAM AT THE BUCHAREST REGIONAL FINAL OF THE 2020 EUROPEAN LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION (ELMC)

The ELMC is one of the oldest and most prestigious moot court competitions, attracting over 80 European and American Universities every year. It is a simulation of a preliminary reference procedure before the European Court of Justice and it consists of a written and an oral phase in English and in French.
This year's case concerned several topical EU Law issues, such as the impact of a Member State's withdrawal from the EU on taxation and the conflict between freedom of religion and animal welfare.
The NKUA Law School team passed the written phase and competed at the Bucharest Regional Final (13-15 February 2020), where it won the 2nd place. It is thus one of the 8 best teams among 80 Universities that took part in the competition.
The team consisted of the undergraduate students M. Vastardi, E. Kapravelos, I.-P. Konstantinopoulou, V. Lamprinoudi, Ch. Anastasopoulou and V. Skondreas, having as coaches the members of the 2019 team K. Lamprinoudis and M. Fourfouri-Iliadou, under the supervision of Associate Professor R.-E. Papadopoulou and Assistant Professors M. Kouskouna and M. Perakis.
