The University of Athens and Sorbonne University are launching a joint postgraduate seminar in Ancient Studies, bringing together expertise from both institutions. The seminar is organised by the Departments of Philology and History and Archaeology at Athens and the Institute of Antiquity Sciences at Sorbonne.
The initiative builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two universities and reflects their commitment to advancing collaborative research and education.
Titled ‘Interdisciplinary Perspectives in Ancient Studies: Exemplary Transformations of Roman Imperial Ideology: Before and After Nero’, the seminar will be delivered online in English from 11 March to 15 May 2026.
Full details on speakers, lecture topics, and the timetable are available in the seminar’s official programme below. Teaching materials and access links can be found on the seminar’s e-class platform via the QR code provided in the programme and event poster.
The seminar is open to postgraduate students from the participating departments at both universities, as well as to doctoral candidates.
