At the 14th Biennial Congress of the European Association of Oral Medicine (EAOM), 27-29 September 2018, Gothenburg, Sweden, Professor Nikolaos G. Nikitakis, Department of Oral Medicine and Pathology, School of Dentistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece was elected as President of the ΕΑΟΜ for the next 2 years (2018-2020). EAOM, founded in 1998, is the official European organization that promotes clinical care, education and research in Oral Medicine, which is the area of special competence concerned with the health and diseases of the oral and peri-oral structures, especially the oral manifestations of systemic diseases and the oral and dental care of patients with special needs.
On Tuesday the 11th of September a vascular symposium was organised at St Petersburg in Russia under the auspices of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Attikon University Hospital.
The local organiser was Alexei Svetlikov, Associate Professor at the I.I. Mechnikov North-Western Medical University, Chief, Vascular and endovascular surgery Department, L.G. Sokolov Medical-Biological Agency of Russia Hospital №122 in collaboration with Professor George Geroulakos, Chairman of Vascular Surgery at the Attikon University Hospital in Athens.
This event covered the full spectrum of vascular disease and was very well attended.
