An important distinction for the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the School of Medicine took place during the Annual European Congress of Cardiology held in Barcelona on 26-30 August 2017.
This conference is the largest in the field of cardiovascular medicine with more than 500 experts sessions and over 4.500 communications contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine. More than 32.000 delegates from more than 110 countries participated in the congress.
The Director of the First University Department of Cardiology at Hippokration General Hospital of Athens, Professor D. Tousoulis was informed that the Department was ranked as the top 1st affiliation with the greatest number of presentations and abstracts (over 70).
Also, the Department received an award for the research on micro- and macro-angiopathy in hypertensive patients with low testosterone levels. The studies and research findings announced at this congress cover the whole spectrum of Cardiology, with the participation of all members of the Clinic, as well as a significant number of young undergraduate and postgraduate students.
